On the 6th of January 2018 the Oscar Carré Trophy was awarded to Duo Juggling Tango, Emilie and Menno van Dyke.

Circus photographer Piet-Hein Out was present to capture the award ceremony during the show of the Wereldkerstcircus at the Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam.

None other than Fredy Knie presented the highest Dutch circus award to the radiant couple under the watchful eye of Frans Cuijpers president of the Dutch Circusfans Association (www.circusvrienden.nl). Fredy Knie told the audience exactly why this high honour was given to the couple.

In the international circus world Menno and his French wife Emilie act as cultural ambassadors for Holland. There are not many Dutch artists who have succeeded to perform and entertain audiences in the best circus rings and varieties around the globe. Menno and Emilie did and the selection committee of the Dutch Circus Fans Association, felt that there was no better opportunity to honour Menno and Emilie than during their performances in the circus temple that was build by Oscar Carré himself.

From the 5th of May until the 11th of June the Outstanding-Productions initiative "The Circus Collection" will organise a circus exhibition on behalf of the Zandvoorts Museum. This small coastal town is also knows as Amsterdam Beach. The new poster design Piet-Hein Out made for Magic Circus will be used to promote the exhibition as well, because Magic Circus is the Amsterdam City Circus and will also perform this year in Zandvoort.

In the exhibit will be some unique pieces such as the guestbook of the East-German State Circus Busch signed by, amongst others, The Crown Prince of Yemen, Albert Schumann, Paula Busch and Carl Sembach. Also costumes, pictures by Piet-Hein Out and wonderful items from the circus poster collection.

He also updated the souvenir brochure which will have an updated cover. Below an image of the cover from the 2015 & 2015 brochure (left) and the update cover from 2017 (right).
